Two Bay Area cities are named near the top of a list ranking speeding fatalities.
The Auto Insurance Center recently published the list, "Speeding Deaths: The Fastest Roads Across the United States Where Fatal Accidents Occurred."
Oakland and San Jose rank among the top "fastest cities" with the highest average speed in fatal accidents. Dallas topped the ranking at 68.13 mph, with Oakland trailing at No. 3 (64.04 mph) and San Jose placing No. 7 (61.49).
The Auto Insurance Center based the list by looking at the average speed of over 12,000 fatal car crashes across the country.
