    Oakley Officer Inured in Collision While Responding to Call

    A police officer in Oakley was injured Tuesday evening in a vehicle crash, according to police. (Published Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019)

    A police officer in Oakley was injured Tuesday evening in a vehicle crash, according to police.

    At about 6:50 p.m., the officer reportedly was responding to a call when another vehicle slammed into him in the middle of the intersection at Main Street and Empire, police said.

    The officer injured his knee after he hit the dashboard on impact, police said.

    Fire crews had to free the other driver from the wreckage, and the male, whose age was not provided, was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, police said.

    Oakley police were investigating the crash.
