East Bay SPCA made a funky song to bring awareness to the coolness of adopting dogs.
Sung by Amanda Schechtman, "Oaktown Pup" parodies the Bruno Mars hit "Uptown Funk," with lyrics like, "Read the forms, sign your name. Counselor! Grab the leash from East Bay SPCA to my foreva home."
The accompanying video features a famous local human. In a Facebook post, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf thanked the East Bay SPCA for "offering her the cameo role."
"Oaktown Pup" currently has logged over 748,000 views on YouTube and the East Bay SPCA has heard from viewers as far away as Belgium and Japan.
