Before moving uptown, to North First Street in San Jose, the NBC Bay Area studios used to be located near the downtown area, at 645 Park Ave.
After the move, the building owners sold the old facility to the city of San Jose.
Well the city has found something to do with the old studios. It’s burning them up.
Recruits from the fire department went through extensive training on Friday inside the former television station.
Trainers light fires, then allow the recruits to go in and put them out, and maybe rescue someone in the process.
If the Oakland A’s move to San Jose, then the city will tear down the building, which sits along the proposed first base line of the new baseball stadium.
