A brawl led to San Jose's first killing since a bloody stretch in August, according to reports.
San Jose police responded to reports of a large, 30-person fight near Bernal Road and Monterey Highway, according to the San Jose Mercury News. There, they found a still-unidentified man with a stab wound, according to reports. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The man is the city's 34th homicide victim of 2012, according to reports.
This is the city's first killing since a stretch in August where eight people were killed over 11 days. That spate of violence also included six nonfatal shootings, according to the newspaper.
That marked a nearly five-week gap since the city's last killing on Aug. 24.
