One Injured, Two Displaced in Excelsior Neighborhood Fire

A one-alarm residential fire broke out at a two-story building in San Francisco’s Excelsior neighborhood early Friday morning, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The fire was reported at 422 Brazil Avenue, blocks away from John McLaren Park, about midnight.

Three people were inside the building when the fire started but had escaped to safety by the times San Francisco firefighters arrived. Firefighters put out the blaze by 12:23 a.m.

One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, firefighter said. Two people were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross. The bottom floor of the building was heavily damaged by the fire. Arson investigators don’t believe this fire was suspicious, but they are still investigating the scene.
