Panel in Berkeley Discusses Catholic Sex Abuse Scandal

Dozens of people gathered at Berkeley’s campus of Santa Clara University’s Jesuit School of Theology Tuesday to hear panelists talk about the church reform as a growing number of priests are being accused of sexual abuse.

This comes a day after the Catholic Diocese of Oakland released a list of 45 men accused of sexual abuse, 20 of which priests.

The church said the scandals are affecting them deeply and they want change.

"We’re sad, we’re angry, frustrated and think we’re also hopeful because a lot of voices are being raised now who really want to reform the church, seeking authentic lasting reform," said Rev. Kevin O’Brien.
