Parolee Arrested for Oakland Stabbing Deaths

A California federal prison parolee has been charged for the stabbing deaths of two people found last month inside a burning Oakland apartment.

The San Francisco Chronicle says 47-year-old Henry Cervantes was arrested on Sept. 29 while visiting his probation officer. He is being held without bail.

Cervantes has been charged with two counts of murder for the Sept. 11 deaths of 73-year-old paroled killer Johnny Gilbert Navaerette and 56-year-old Renee Washington.

Cervantes has been identified as a top-ranking member of the deadly Nuestra Familia prison gang. In 2004, Cervantes was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for conspiracy and racketeering.
