Peninsula Paddleboarders Washed Over with Holiday Spirit, Dress as Santas for First-Ever ‘Santa Paddle'

Coastside residents along the Peninsula organized the first-ever "Santa Paddle" this past weekend to ring in the holiday season in a very California-like fashion.

About two dozen people came to a free paddleboarding event outside of the Half Moon Bay Yacht Club in Half Moon Bay.

"Conditions were marvelous!" Cassandra Clark said.

Mavericks PaddleSports and Half Moon Bay Yacht Club co-sponsored the event. Proceeds from any paddleboarding rentals during the event went toward Coastside Hope. The groups also collected food, clothing or monetary donations for the local organization.

Clark is already thinking about next year's event. She wants to add some carolers to the mix - or "just better singers."
