Petaluma Police Seek Witness to Arson Attempt at Convenience Store

Petaluma police are looking for anyone who saw a male pour gasoline in the parking lot of a Quik Stop convenience store Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. and the suspect also poured gasoline on a building adjacent to the Quik Stop at 1510 E. Washington St., police said.

The suspect then tried to light the gas on fire but was unsuccessful, according to police.

An unknown person told the Quik Stop clerk what was happening and police were notified. Officers have not yet been able to identify the person who witnessed the incident.
