A season that kicked off with promise for the San Francisco 49ers took a serious hit just three weeks in when quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Kansas City Chiefs.
San Francisco now sits at 2-7 with the squad down to its third-string quarterback, Nick Mullens.
Despite his inexperience, Mullens – playing in his NFL debut – led the team to a 34-3 blowout of the one-win Oakland Raiders in the 49ers' most recent contest. Mullens will get the start when the 49ers host the New York Giants in Week 10.
