A woman is under arrest for allegedly stabbing an employee she apparently didn’t know at a Jack in the Box in Pleasanton early Sunday morning, police said.
At about 4:30 a.m., police were notified of an activated panic alarm from a Jack in the Box at 4295 Valley Ave., Lt. Scott Rohovit said.
Officers arrived at the fast food restaurant and discovered a male employee had been stabbed multiple times by a female suspect about 30 minutes before the panic alarm was turned on, he said.
Pleasanton police detectives arrived on scene and viewed surveillance footage showing the female suspect retrieving an object from her purse and then stabbing the victim multiple times in the back and neck area, Rohovit said.
Multiple people witnessed the assault at the Jack in the Box, according to Rohovit.
Employees saw the suspect, later identified as 31-year-old Jazmine Vasquez, fleeing the scene walking east on Valley Avenue, Rohovit said.

The victim was transported to Eden Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries and released, Rohovit said.
Police told NBC Bay Area on Monday that Vasquez and the victim apparently didn’t know one another prior to the incident.
At about 4:15 p.m. Sunday, detectives developed information on Vasquez’s whereabouts and about 45 minutes later arrested her without incident at a family member's home in Dublin, Rohovit said.
Vasquez was booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, the lieutenant said.
