Oakland police are currently responding to a barricaded suspect in the 2400 block of Monticello Avenue.

Police got a call around 5 p.m. about a person being inside a home with a gun.

Officials surrounded the perimeter and have reportedly used a loudspeaker to tell the person inside the home to walk out the front door with their hands up in the air but have not gotten a response.

Neighbors say a woman lives in the house and they claim she has been using a BB gun to shoot neighboring homes and cars, however, police have not confirmed that.

Officials have blocked off two blocks of Monticello Avenue while they try to get the suspect to come out.

    The investigation is ongoing.
