A Suisun City man was arrested in Fairfield on Tuesday evening after allegedly driving under the influence and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to police.
The suspect, 56-year-old John Perry, was stopped by a Fairfield police officer after he was allegedly speeding and driving erratically. The officer conducted a DUI investigation and determined Perry was likely under the influence of alcohol and possibly other controlled substances.
As Perry was being taken into custody, a search of his vehicle revealed a .25-caliber semi-automatic handgun in the center console, police said. He was booked into Solano County Jail.
