No Bomb Found After Threat at School in Fremont

Fremont police searched a middle school following a bomb threat Friday morning but did not discover any danger, according to the Fremont Unified School District.

But school had already been dismissed for the 1,300 students at Thornton Jr. High School and many have already been picked up or sent home.

After the school received the threat, the students were evacuated from the campus and walked to the Cabrillo Shopping Center nearby to wait for their parents to pick them up.

Parents also had the option of giving permission for their children to walk home.

School district officials were working with AC Transit to provide bus transportation for students who need it.

After police gave the all clear, the remaining students were walked back to the campus to wait for transportation home.
