Police Investigate String of Snatching Robberies in Sunnyvale

The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect or suspects involved in a recent string of robberies by snatching.

Police said there have been approximately 15 reported necklace-snatching robberies since May in locations throughout Sunnyvale.

The suspects are described as black males in their 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall with thin builds.

Police said the suspects typically walk behind the victim before snatching the necklace.

Firearms were used in at least two of the robberies.

Police said most of the victims have been Asian and Indian women. There was at least one case involving a male victim.

Police are asking anyone with information on the robberies to call (408) 730-7138.
