SJPD Investigate Two More Homicides

A violent week in San Jose continued Friday with a fatal stabbing and a gang-related shooting

The rash of crime in San Jose continued Friday with a fatal stabbing and a gang-related shooting.

San Jose police were investigating their 21st homicide of the year and fifth the week late Friday-- a stabbing death near the intersection of Magliocco Drive and South Winchester Boulevard in west San Jose around 10 p.m.

When officers arrived, they said they found a man laying in a carport, suffering from stab wounds.

The victim, 35, was transported to Valley Medical Center but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said no suspects have been identified. They also don't have a motive.

Police earlier in the day also responded to a gang-related shooting that sent a 31-year-old San Jose man to the hospital with serious injuries.

The man was shot three times -- once in the chest and twice in the back.

The shooting occurred at about 5 p.m. in front of an east San Jose liquor store on the 2700 block of Kollmar Drive.

The shooter is described as a 14-year-old boy, who shouted a gang affiliation before the shooting, according to police.

Police were unable to locate a suspect and no arrests have been made.

Friday's incidents add to a violent week in San Jose.

A shooting death was reported in east San Jose on Thursday.

San Jose is on pace to surpass last year's total of 46 homicides.
