San Jose police are investigating the city's 36th homicide of 2013, which happened late Saturday night.

The victim was identified as 39-year-old Martha Casillas of San Jose.

A suspect has been arrested and is in custody at Santa Clara County Jail on a homicide charge. The suspect's identity has yet to be released, but investigators said the victim knew the suspect.

Police said they responded to a report at around 10:38 p.m. of a person stabbed on the 900 block of Dakota Drive.

When they arrived, police said they found an adult female suffering from at least one stab wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
