San Mateo police have evacuated residents in an apartment building as they look for a possibly armed person Monday evening.
Officers are looking for the person who may have a knife and fled from an apartment in the 2700 block of Edison Street, police said.
The suspect was acting irrational, according to police.
Residents in the area are advised to shelter in place and report suspicious activity by calling 911.
