Police Officer, Woman Injured in Fremont Crash

A Union City police officer and a woman driving a four-door sedan were taken to the hospital on Monday morning in a three-way car crash in Fremont.

Fremont police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques said neither of the injuries are life threatening, but the woman's injuries were described as "moderate."

Police were called to the intersection of Fremont Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway at 8:26 a.m. after three cars crashed into each other. Aside from the patrol car and woman's sedan, the third car was driven by a man who had a child with him.  Bosques said they weren't injured.

Eastbound Paseo Padre Parkway was closed during the investigation, which reopened just before 1:30 p.m.
