Police Release Photo of 7-11 Robber

Police have released a photo of the man they believe is responsible for a string of convenience store robberies.

On Feb. 24, officers received a call shortly before 3 a.m. reporting that a man had just robbed a 7-Eleven store at 1305 S. Main St., Walnut Creek police Lt. Mark Covington said.

The man had entered the store, simulated that he had a gun in his pocket and robbed a clerk, who was alone in the store, Covington said.

The man then fled on foot, according to Covington.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his mid-20s, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin build. He had a goatee and  was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and gloves, Covington said.

Police searched the area for the suspect, but didn't find him.

Walnut Creek police detectives believe that the robbery was related to two other recent 7-Eleven store robberies - one on Feb. 25, at  2525 North Main St. in Walnut Creek, and another in Concord.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Walnut Creek police  Detective Steve Bertolozzi at (925) 256-3553 or police dispatch at (925)  935-6400.
