Police: San Jose Man Drove Car Into Two

The dispute appears to have been gang-related, police said.

A 23-year-old San Jose man was arrested on Saturday night after he allegedly struck two people while driving and fled the scene, police said.

Officers responded to a reported dispute involving several people near Nunes Drive and Flickenger Avenue at about 9:45 p.m., police said. During the dispute, Jimmy George Copas allegedly drove off in a 2004 4-door Cadillac and struck two people, a 40-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man, according to police. The two victims were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not expected to be life threatening. No one else was injured. Police later spotted the Cadillac in the 600 block of Gridley Street, and Copas was taken into custody. The dispute appears to have been gang-related, police said. Copas was booked into Santa Clara County jail for felony hit-and-run.
