A man was fatally shot in Oakland Monday afternoon, police said.
Officers responded to the area of 8th and Campbell streets on a report of a shooting. When police arrived they found a man in his 20s suffering from a gunshot wound, Oakland Police Officer Johnna Watson said.
The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Watson said officers are canvassing the area and are conducting a follow-up investigation.
No other information was immediately available.
