Police Search for Mountain View Burglars

Investigators are asking for the public's help in tracking down five suspects connected to a Monday home invasion

Police are seeking the help of the public to track down five suspects in connection with a home-invasion robbery in Mountain View on Monday morning, police said.

The robbery occurred in the 700 block of Sylvan Avenue at about 5:45 a.m. Monday, police said.

A male victim was walking to his car when the five victims approached him, according to police. One of the suspects was carrying a handgun, police said.

Police said the victim was punched in the face and then forced inside his home. When inside, the victim, along with his wife, who was inside sleeping when the altercation began, were ordered to lie on the floor as the suspects robbed them, according to police.

The suspects, who were described as wearing dark clothes with hoods and covering most of their faces, took cash and a briefcase which contained a handgun, police said.

Police responded to the home after the victims made a 9-1-1 emergency call when the suspects fled the home.

Police said detectives do not believe this to be a random incident.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Mountain View police at (650) 903-6395.
