Police are asking anyone who may have seen this man before his death to call the San Jose Police Department.

Police are seeking the public's help in their investigation surrounding a transient found dead in his van earlier this month in South San Jose.

Cesar Herrera Godinez, 52, was found inside in the van parked in the 5000 block of Eden Park Place on April 3, police said.

Officers had responded to the scene shortly before 4 p.m. on a report of a possible body in a van, according to police. Investigators learned Godinez lived in a 1990 Dodge Ram van that he parked in multiple places within Morgan Hill and Gilroy, police said.

The 52-year-old was often seen with a dog, according to police. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police Detective Sgt. Hamblin or Detective Tanner at (408) 277-5283.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-7867.
