The dreaded tax day has finally arrived. You had a few extra days this year to file, but if you still put things off, here's what you need to know before the clock strikes midnight.
Your taxes must be postmarked April 18, 2011 in order to avoid a penalty. Same for that extension if you're filing one.
If you're cutting it close, here's a list of post offices that are open late tonight:
- Redwood City Main Post Office: 1100 Broadway, Redwood City, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- San Francisco P&DC: 1300 Evans Ave., San Francisco, 7 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.; Curbside 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
- Airport Station: 660 W. Field Road, San Francisco, 11 a.m. - Midnight; Curbside 4 p.m. - Midnight
- North Bay P&DC: 1150 N. McDowell Blvd., Petaluma, 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Curbside 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
