Power Outage in San Francisco Leaves Thousands Without Electricity

The Pacific Gas and Electric Company is reporting a power outage in San Francisco that has left thousands without electricity Saturday night.

PG&E said the power went out at around 8 p.m. in the Sunset district and parts of Panhandle. At 9:43 p.m., they sent a tweet saying that power had been restored to customers in the Sunset district.

At least 3,360 customers are out of power, company officials said.

As of Saturday evening, there is no estimate for restoring the electricity. PG&E said the outage was caused by a raccoon coming in contact with the power lines.

PG&E said this outage is unrelated to an outage earlier Saturday in San Francisco.
