Thousands of people are expected to bring in the New Year by partying in downtown San Jose.
Fahrenheit Ultra Lounge expects 250 guests for dinner and dancing. They have about 40 tickets left to sell.
SP2 Communal Bar and Restaurant sold out of tickets, and expects 600 guests. Both establishments say New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest nights of the year for them. They also agree the downtown atmosphere on New Year’s Eve improves every year.
"I've been here for ten years and downtown San Jose seems to be progressing, it's getting better and better every year,” said Danny Chu, the co-owner of Fahrenheit Ultra Lounge.
"I know downtown San Jose doesn't have that good of a rep right now, but I think everyone here feels very safe and invited,” said SP2 Event Coordinator Angeline Nguyen.
While it'll still be cold around midnight, no one we spoke with expects weather to keep people from partying.
