Twitch is notoriously known for its online live streaming of video games and e-sports but during TwitchCon in San Jose, the company proved their community of streamers is into more than just video games.
During the three-day convention, the online streaming company held a Cosplay Contest with a $15K grand prize. Many of the cosplay finalists transformed into recognizable characters from different games such as Zelda and Super Mario Odyssey, but what was most impressive was how much time and effort went into their cosplay costumes. Cosplay finalists were evaluated on four categories: Quality of Techniques, Material and Material Resourcefulness, Functionality of the cosplay and Aesthetics of the Cosplay.
NBC Bay Area met with a few of the cosplay finalists to learn about their characters and their love for cosplay itself.
