Protest Against Planned Parenthood Calls For Criminal Investigation

Hundreds of people gathered Saturday in San Jose to protest Planned Parenthood after a video surfaced revealing employees mishandling tissues of aborted fetuses and sometimes, even offering them for sale.

The organizers said the rally was part of a protest against abortion performed at the San Jose clinic and other Planned Parenthood locations across the country.

The nation-wide protest was a response to a video released by the Center for Medical Progress showing Planned Parenthood employees harvesting the body parts of aborted fetuses to sell.

Protesters called for an end to federal funding for the organization.

"Every year, government gives Planned Parenthood half a billion dollars that comes from our taxes that you and I pay that go towards these services of selling the organs of the babies," Event organizer Penelope Whisman said.

In their defense, Planned Parenthood released a statement saying they “help patients who want to donate tissue for scientific research” with consent from the patients.

Nonetheless, protesters at Saturday’s rally are calling for a full criminal investigation.
