Public Viewing for Kaiser CEO Bernard Tyson Scheduled on Sunday

Kaiser Permanente will honor the late Bernard J. Tyson in a public viewing Sunday in Oakland, followed by an invitation-only service on Monday.

The Kaiser chairman and chief executive officer died in his sleep on Nov. 10. He was 60 years old.

Tyson was named CEO of the Oakland-based health care giant in 2013 and chairman of its board of directors in 2014. His career with Kaiser spanned more than 30 years.

Tyson is survived by his wife Denise Bradley-Tyson, and sons Bernard J. Tyson Jr., Alexander and Charles.

The public viewing will take place at the Oakland Rotunda, 300 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

An invitation-only service will be held Monday at Chase Center, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
