Raiders Hire Stanford's O-Line Coach

A standout when he played, and a key player in Jim Harbaugh's success at Stanford, Steve Wisniewski is now an assistant offensive line coach for the Oakland Raiders, according to ESPN.com.

Writer Bill Williamson points out that the Wisniewski family ties could run deeper than just Steve staying in the Bay. His nephew, a Penn State star lineman, is mentioned as a solid pick in the coming draft.

The Raiders are still without a defensive coordinator, what with the NY Jets blocking access to Dennis Thurman.

And, of course, Jeff Fisher recently split from his gig at Tennessee, but his profile may be too high to take the DC role in Oakland.
