Microclimate Weather Alert: Rain, Hail, Lightning

Rain throughout the Bay Area, hail in Orinida and lightning in Martinez peppered the skies overnight, with more precipitation pelting down on Friday.

The hail was so loud in Santa Clara near the stadium, Dana Zuccarello said it woke her up. Lauren Logan wrote on the NBC Bay Area Facebook page it was hailing in Benicia too. In Antioch, Will Hunt said it sounded like "things were falling over outside."

The heavy rain and booming thunder startled Brenna Castelo Hill of Pleasanton, along with her husband and dog. "Thank goodness our girls slept through it," she said.
