Rat Poison Found at South Bay Dog Park

South Bay dog owners were given a disturbing warning Tuesday from city officials in Sunnyvale. Someone is trying to poison dogs at the Las Palmas Dog Park.

A city press release listed two separate occasions when open bait boxes of commercial rat poison were discovered on the dog park grounds.

So far, no animals have ingested the poison. Animal control officer Michelle Morgan said alert owners reported the find and it was quickly removed from the park on both occasions.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call Sunnyvale Animal Control at (408) 730-7178.
