Redwood City Burglary Suspects Arrested

Two suspects have been arrested for an alleged burglary that occurred 8 a.m. Wednesday at a Redwood City residence.

Naji Othman (pictured below), a 19-year-old male from Belmont, and an unidentified 17-year old male from Redwood City were booked into the San Mateo County Jail and San Mateo County Juvenile Detention Center, respectively. 
 
According to the Redwood City Police Department, the suspects entered the home by breaking a rear window.  They allegedly ransacked the home and stole an Apple laptop computer.
 
A neighbor spotted the suspects and reported a vehicle description and license plate number to police.
 
An East Palo Alto officer spotted the vehicle near Willow Road and Newbridge Street in East Palo Alto at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
 
The officer detained the suspects and discovered a shotgun in the trunk of the vehicle.  An Apple laptop computer was not recovered.
 
According to police, both suspects are active members of criminal street gangs.
 
They face charges of residential burglary, participating in a criminal street gang, and being a gang member in possession of a firearm.
