Relative Raped Girl at Elementary School: Police

A search is on for a man police say raped a little girl at her elementary school in San Francisco Thursday but the suspect isn't just some random man off the streets. He's a family member of the victim.

Police say Pedro Hernandez,68, went to Sanchez Elementary School between noon and 2 p.m. with a bagged lunch for his step-granddaughter. A teacher's aide who went to look for the girl found Hernandez allegedly sexually assaulting her in a secluded stairwell. Surveillance video caught the whole incident.

A $2 million warrant has been issued for Hernandez.

Hernandez, who lives in San Francisco and the East Bay, is 5 feet 2 inches tall, 140 pounds and has a moustache. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and a bluish-gray baseball cap.

School officials plan to send out a letter about the incident to all Sanchez Elementary parents on Friday -- the last day of school.
