Report: Bay Area Worst Place for Home Flipping

Like to flip houses? You better get out of the Bay Area -- this place is the worst.

That startling news comes courtesy of RealtyTrac, which says that Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is the best place in the U.S. for flippers, and that the Bay Area is worst.

The benchmark the Web site uses for that is return on investment. And in Pittsburgh, the return on investment was 106 percent during the second quarter of 2014.

That's quite a flip, and the best ROI in the United States.

Flippers actually LOST money in the Bay Area, the San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont statistical area, according to reports. The average ROI in our area was -9 percent.
