Man, Dog Rescued Near San Francisco's Cliff House

Rescuers were able to bring a man and a dog to safety Sunday afternoon near San Francisco's Cliff House.

The man was reportedly trapped between the top of the cliff and the ocean below when rescuers made contact, police said. At the same time, a dog was found stuck in a nearby location on the cliff before being saved by rescue crews.

It is unclear at this time if the dog belongs to the man.

The San Francisco Police Department was on scene to conduct the rescues and investigate the matter.

The man and the dog, a Corgie, were brought to safety amid cheers from dozens of onlookers. No injuries were reported.

"That made me happy; the dog was mellow and happy and had the crowd cheering him on," said Battallion Chief Anita Paratley.
