Roosevelt Elementary Teacher Arrested on Suspicion of Child Endangerment and Battery

Police said the allegations involve two 4-year-old male students but are not sexual in nature.

A Redwood City elementary school teacher was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and battery on school property, police said Saturday.

Redwood City police arrested Alexia Aliki Bogdis, 44, of Millbrae, who taught developmentally disabled or autistic children at Roosevelt Elementary School.

Police said that the incident involved two 4-year-old male students, and that the alleged abuse reportedly occurred over he course of the past few months.

The allegations are non-sexual in nature, police said.

Bogodis turned herself into the Redwood City Police department Saturday morning for an arrest warrant issued on Friday.

Bogodis was booked into San Mateo County Jail.

According to school district documents, Bogdis had tenured status and was hired by the Redwood City School District in August 2006.

Her name was still listed in the school's online directory as of Saturday morning.
