Construction of a roundabout on state Highways 12 and 113 between Rio Vista and Suisun City in unincorporated Solano County is set to begin, and Birds Landing Road will be closed as early as Thursday through mid-May, according to Caltrans.
During the temporary closure of Birds Landing Road, a detour will be in place and changeable message signs will direct traffic. After Birds Landing reopens, construction is scheduled to continue through the fall.
At least one lane of both highways will remain open at all times during construction. Lane closures on the highways will be at night only.
The posted speed limit for the area will be 25 mph, and changeable message signs along with flaggers will guide traffic during daytime work that requires reconfigured lanes.
Most of the work will be performed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
