San Francisco Preps for Annual Bay to Breakers Celebration

It's that time of year again.

San Francisco is bracing for Sunday's annual Bay to Breakers. The race, which has been a favorite city tradition since 1912, will cause major traffic jams and road closures, but the general consensus is that it's well worth it to see the participants in flamboyant costume.

This year's race will start at 8 a.m. on Main Street and Howard Street, with the Ocean Beach parking lot serving as the finish line.

It's too late to register for the race itself, but you can always go out and cheer on the runners.

To find out which roads will be closed, head on over to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency's Bay to Breakers guide.
