SF Child Hit by Stray Bullet in Serious Condition

The little girl who was shot by a stray bullet while walking in San Francisco's Bayview District Tuesday night remains in the hospital Wednesday in serious condition.

A spokesperson for SF General said the little girl's  injuries are not life-threatening. She had surgery on her left knee Tuesday night and is expected to fully recover.

Marlena was walking on 3rd street with her dad when gun shots rang out.  Her father said the next thing he knew his daughter was on the ground with a gunshot wound to her leg.

Police said they are searching for two suspects. They said at least four shots were fired. The suspects were firing at each other and the girl was not the intended target, according to police.

Investigators said they are reviewing surveillance footage from a nearby store in hopes of getting more information about the shooters.
