SFPD Investigating “Suspicious” Baby Death

San Francisco police are investigating the death of a 6-month-old boy on Tuesday morning as "suspicious," after a mother brought the infant to the hospital, where he died.

Officer Gordon Shyy said San Francisco General Hospital employees called police at 12:30 a.m. after the mother carried her baby into the emergency room - she had come from her home on Monterey Boulevard and Acadia Street in the city's Glen Park neighborhood.

Homicide detectives were then called in to help, and spent the morning inspecting her home. At one point in the morning, police towed a car away from the property.

A neighbor told NBC Bay Area that the family with the baby had lived there about two months.

As of Tuesday at 11 a.m., there had been no arrests.
