SFPD Cruiser Crashes Into Home

Officer said he had to swerve in order to avoid a collision.

A San Francisco police car crashed into a house in the city's Silver Terrace neighborhood Monday morning after apparently getting cut off by another car, a police spokesman said.

The crash was reported around 6:20 a.m. near the intersection of  Silver Avenue and Ledyard Street.

Two officers were in the squad car when another car allegedly cut  them off. The officer driving the car swerved to avoid a collision and struck a nearby house, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The officer driving the car suffered minor injuries while the other officer was uninjured. No one inside the home was injured either,  Esparza said.

No estimate of the damage done to the house was immediately available.
