SFPD Officers Respond to Barricaded Suspect in San Francisco

San Francisco Police officers say what started as a family dispute has escalated into what they are calling a critical incident.

Police hostage negotiators and the SWAT team are responding to a man who is barricaded inside his home, possibly with a gun, at Ashton and Grafton avenues.

Police say they responded to a call at 6:10 p.m. of a disturbance and that’s when the suspect locked himself in a room.

Three blocks of Grafton are closed and some residents are not being allowed to go home. Others are being told to shelter in place.

NBC Bay Area's Jean Elle contributed to this report.
