San Francisco police said a woman was driving on Leavenworth Street around 5 p.m. Friday when she pulled over to look for her cell phone that had fallen under her car seat.

They said a robber walked up to her car and demanded money.

The dog, a Pekingese,  was taken to the vet, but had to be put down.

The only description of the robber is that is was a black man in his 30s. The still photo at the top of this article is also quite blurry.
