San Jose police are working overtime in an all-out effort to catch a man they say is responsible for a rare and terrifying crime spree.

UPDATE:San Jose police said they captured Paul Ray Castillo in Sacramento Sunday evening. He arrived at the San Jose police department just before 11 p.m. Sunday night.

Police in San Jose continue to search for a p arolee-at-large believed to have killed a 60-year-old Campbell woman in a violent crime spree on Friday.
San Jose police Officer Jose Garcia said Sunday morning that Paul  Ray Castillo, a 33-year-old man wanted in connection with the carjacking and murder of Cindy Nguyen, remains at large.
Nguyen's body was found at 8 a.m. Saturday in a home on the 500  block of North 12th Street, according to San Jose Police Sgt. Jason Dwyer.  Castillo has ties to the home where she was found.
Police believe that Castillo began his crime spree at about 10  a.m. Saturday, when a suspect shot a 42-year-old man during a robbery at a Chevron gas station on Lincoln Avenue.
The victim was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and is  expected to survive.
The suspect fled the scene in a Nissan 300Z that had been reported  stolen 9 days earlier and was later found at The Plant shopping center at Monterey Road and Curtner Avenue.
Nguyen was apparently carjacked at the shopping center at around  noon.
A man resembling Castillo was spotted in the area near Mabury and  North King Roads Friday, and officers fired shots at him after he did something they considered threatening, Dwyer said. However, he fled into an apartment complex in the area and could not be located despite an extensive  search.
Nguyen's car, a white 1997 Lexus, was found in the area after the  shooting.
Castillo was last seen wearing a white or red shirt and  dark-colored pants. He is described as a Hispanic man who is 5 feet 9 inches  and weighs 210 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and a thin mustache,  police said.
Police consider Castillo armed and extremely dangerous. Anyone coming into contact with him should call 911 immediately.
