SJPD Arrest Suspect in City's 9th Homicide

SJPD arrest a husband in connection with his wife's death.

San Jose police have arrested a husband in connection with the firey death of his wife; she became the city's ninth homicide victim.

Police and fire crews went to the home of Patricia Storey, 64, on Monday in the 100 block of S. 2nd Street to make a welfare check shortly before midnight. When they arrived, police said in a statement, that they found Storey on the ground suffering from severe burns. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead the next day.

Police began investigating, and detectives ended up arresting Barton Williams, 49 -- Storey's husband -- on Wednesday at St. James Park in connection for her death. Police announced the arrest on Thursday afternoon.

Police have not revealed a motive.

Both Storey and Williams are homeless, police said.
