SJPD Raid Homes, Make Arrests in Connection to Evergreen Burglaries

San Jose police have arrested three people in connection to a rash of burglaries in the Evergreen area.

The suspects, all minors, are allegedly part of a burglary crew that has been terrorizing the South Bay, according to police.

The arrests were made while police raided two homes last week. Police netted two car loads full of stolen goods.

San Jose Police Captain Tony Mata said most of the items were electronics, including cameras and game consoles.

Mata serves as the new commander in charge of bringing crime down in San Jose's Foothill division. His officers have made numerous burglary arrests over the last few weeks.

The latest crackdown is considered a big success for Mata and his team. Mata said the arrests shows the hard work officers are doing when they have a lead.

Investigators are still processing the evidence from the raids so owners can claim their stolen goods.

Meanwhile, Evergreen residents are circulating a petition demanding the district attorney not be lenient with burglars who prey on their homes.
