San Carlos Library to Get Facelift

San Carlos residents will soon begin to enjoy a completely  renovated downtown city library -- the result of a modernization effort that  took five months.

The San Carlos library closed its temporary campus on  Saturday, just a couple weeks before the city reopens its new and improved  library on Nov. 2.

The library has undergone renovations under the city's Library  Improvement Project, which focused on reconfiguring the existing space to  create a more effective facility, according to the city.

The renovated library will include a new space for teens, new  books, CDs and DVDs, new reading and study areas, upgraded technology, and  expanded children's room with early literacy computers and more self-check  out stations. There will also be a new one-point service desk for checkouts  and information.

During the time between the temporary library closure and the new  library's grand opening, residents are asked to use neighboring libraries in  the county.

The new library will open its doors on Nov. 2 at 10 a.m.
